About Us

Cal Poly Triathlon provides an avenue for students to train in swimming, cycling, and running with a plan to meet individual goals in the rapidly growing sport of triathlon. We wish to create a fun and encouraging atmosphere for athletes of all abilities—from the absolute beginner to the seasoned competitor.

We train and compete together in local and national races including the USAT Collegiate National Triathlon Championships, competing with over sixty other teams from around the country. We are a member of the West Coast Collegiate Triathlon Conference. We are a dominant presence in the collegiate division of the Wildflower Triathlon.

Our team is currently comprised of over 100 members with all levels of experience. March Triathlon Series, our very own early-season triathlon, is an event that serves as one of our greatest fundraisers and grows in reputation and participants every year. Our February fun-run is called Chains of Love.

Living in beautiful San Luis Obispo, with Wildflower Triathlons right in our backyard, Cal Poly creates the perfect training ground to develop and enhance your abilities in multi-sport. We have regular meetings every Thursday, and while some like to train on their own, many Cal Poly Triathletes attend daily coached workouts. Come by a meeting for team info, workouts of the week, training tips from our coaches and guest speakers like Victor Plata and Julie Moss.

We hold weekly meetings every Thursday during UU hour (11am–12pm) in building 53 room 215 while school is in session.

Feel free to contact any of the officers or coaches with questions about the team.
